Parker West spent her entire life digging herself out of the hole that her parents, and herself, had put her in. Overcoming every obstacle in her way, she gets a degree in physical therapy and starts her own business working with Veterans. Taking a freelance job for an NHL team, Parker finally feels in control of her life and does everything she can to prove she's good at what she does.

Zachary Matthews was one of the best players in the NHL. Ranking in the top five for goals scored in the league and captain of the Houston Devils for the fifth year in a row, he was the guy that every player aspired to be. But a massive hit during a game sends Zachary on a downward spiral. Trying to recover from his injuries and take care of his four-year-old daughter, he feels lost and hits the bottle. The only thing he's good at doing anymore is pushing people away, but the new trainer sends him on a run for his money when she refuses to give up on him.
